Frequently asked questions
How does College Unlimited work with clients?
There are two ways to work with us. As a College Unlimited Partner, we manage the entire application process with you: building the college list, developing the resume, requesting recommendation letters, editing essays, and making sure every application goes out on time. Partners have unlimited access to us from August through December of senior year.
If you’d rather get help at specific points, For YOU Hours let you meet with us as needed, billed hourly, without us managing deadlines. If you start hourly and later become a Partner, your hourly payments are deducted from the Partner price.
Why do I need an educational consultant to apply to college?
The landscape has changed. Colleges are no longer looking for a well-rounded student; they’re building a well-rounded freshman class. Applications have increased dramatically, and it’s harder than ever for a student to stand out.
We spend our time visiting campuses and talking with admissions officers, so we understand what each school is looking for. That lets us help students choose colleges that are a true fit and build applications that show exactly why they belong there.
What makes College Unlimited unique?
We invest personally in every student’s needs and goals. There’s no standardized approach here. We partner with each student to understand what fit means for them, and our satisfaction comes from watching them find a college that’s challenging, affordable, and socially exciting.
Do you work with transfer students?
Yes. A college decision isn’t permanent, and plenty of seventeen-year-olds choose a school that turns out not to fit. We help transfer students find a college that matches who they’ve become.
When is the best time to start?
As soon as questions about college start coming up. That can be as early as eighth grade, when understanding admissions requirements can shape course selection. Most of our students begin in ninth, tenth, or eleventh grade.
What is College Unlimited’s success rate?
We’ve helped hundreds of students apply and get accepted to colleges that fit academically, socially, and, most importantly, financially. Our students have earned merit scholarships upwards of $100,000 at individual schools, and families regularly tell us how well their students are doing once they get there.
How and when do I pay?
Partner clients pay when the contract is signed, with flexible payment schedules available by mutual agreement. For YOU Hours clients pay at each scheduled meeting.
